Janet L. Meyer, age 67, of West Bend, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend.
She was born on July 16, 1942 in Sheboygan to the late Leonard C. and Sylvia (nee Simon) Meyer. Janet was a graduate of Port Washington High School, class of 1960, and eventually settled in West Bend. A very generous and giving person; wherever there was a need, she was there. She enjoyed helping with food & clothing drives at Casa Maria Hospitality House in Milwaukee. Janet was very active at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, in addition where she had volunteered for their school lunch program. She also volunteered at the Samaritan in West Bend. Janet was always cheerful, loving, and enjoyed the companionship of everyone she knew.
She is survived by, Michael Zimmerman of Liberty, NC, Jonathan Koehn of West Bend, and Jesse Koehn of Gulfport, MS; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Jeremy, Samantha and Joshua Zimmerman all of Libertyville, NC; her brother, Thomas (Jean) Meyers of St. Charles, MO; an uncle, Willis Meyer; and many other close relatives and dear friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, David Zimmerman.
Funeral services in remembrance of Janet will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 3:00pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington Street) West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00pm until the time of the services. Inurnment will be in Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg. Memorials in Janet's name to Casa Maria Catholic Worker House (1131 N 21st St Milwaukee WI 53233) are appreciated by the family.
