Janice M. Haefs (nee Heuer), formerly of Lomira, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Sage Meadows Memory Care of Fond du Lac where she lived for the past 19 months.
She was born on May 26, 1937, to the late William and Dolores (nee Heinz) Heuer. On May 31, 1958, she was united in marriage to Richard Haefs. Janice always enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whether it was traveling, watching her children/grandchildren’s sporting events, or playing cards. She had a special love of all animals and the Green Bay Packers. She spent her free time knitting, gardening, and putting together puzzles. She spent many hours volunteering at Hope Nursing Home, visiting and playing cards with the residents, delivering Meals on Wheels, and volunteered at Trinity United Methodist Church. Janice was trained as a beautician, but spent much of her career as a medical van driver, assisting others. She was a powerful advocate for her daughter who has special needs.
Those Janice leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 63 years, Richard Haefs; five children, Michael (Monica) Haefs, Sherrill Haefs, Kevin (Lynn) Haefs, Scott (Kelly) Haefs, and Randy Haefs; nine grandchildren, Shannon (Ryan) Zahn, Leigh (Rick) Ramczyk, Jill (Nick) Shultis, Erik (Beckie) Haefs, Kurtis (Taylor) Haefs, Joshua (Colleen) Haefs, Carisa (Chris) Thompson, Benjamin Haefs and Nicole Haefs; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Sharon Bryfczynski; a brother-in-law, Jerry (Karen) Hoefs; and aunt, Gloria Magee; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her in-laws, Richard (Helen) Hoefs; brother-in-law, Donald Bryfczynski; and brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Janice Rettmann.
