Janice Ruth Hanna

July 5, 1941 — March 21, 2022

Janice Ruth Hanna (Macke), age 80 years, of West Bend was called home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2022 at The Waterford in West Bend surrounded by her loving family.

Janice was born on July 5, 1941 in Freeport, Illinois to John and Helen Macke  (Heidel), and was a proud Lutheran and faithful follower of Jesus her entire life.  Janice was united in marriage to Kenneth G. Hanna on June 5, 1965 in Milwaukee.  Kenneth passed away on May 22, 2011 (obit click here) .

Janice graduated in 1959 from South Division High School in Milwaukee.  She worked at Wauwatosa Realty for many years as a secretary.  Janice enjoyed crocheting and made “lap robes,” afghans, stuffed animals amongst other things.  She also liked to golf, bake, and listen to county music.  Janice was also know to have quite a “sweet tooth.”

Those Janice leaves behind to cherish her memory include her three daughters, Denise (Dan Vossenkemper) Potrykus, Beth (Todd) Neuenfeldt, and Terri (Al) Scheinpflug; six grandchildren, Jason (Angela) Potrykus, Sara (Bobby) Wendt, Stacey Scheinpflug, Carri (Travis) Weiler, Megan (Josh) Miller, Clayton (Tara) Wegner, and; thirteen great-grandchildren, Dylan Olson, Corbyn Miller, Sophie Wegner, Trenton Weiler, Reighlynn Wegner, Vehanna Miller, Emmalyn Wendt, Easton Wegner, Hanna Wendt, Cora Weiler, Fletcher Wegner, McKenna Miller & Colton Weiler; brother-in-law, Donald (Nancy) Hanna; and canine companion, Tinker.  She is further survived by one niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents, John and Helen; parents-in-law, Charles and Elsie Hanna (Reinhardt); sister, Jean (John) Streicher; and two nephews, Trevor Streicher and Bruce Hanna.

A Celebration of Janice’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at 9089 Forest View Rd, Kewaskum, WI 53040.  Followed by inurnment at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin for immediate family.

Memorials in Janice’s name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association (click here).

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at The Waterford in West Bend and Horizon Hospice for their care and compassion.
