Jean Ruth Watson (Barfknecht), age 86 years, of West Bend was called home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.
Jean was born on February 25, 1936 in Janesville to Leonard and Lorraine Barfknecht (Becker). She was united in marriage to Peter E. Watson Sr. on December 3, 1955 in Janesville. Peter passed away on December 9, 2016.
Jean graduated from Edgerton High School in 1955. She worked at Norwood Mills in Janesville for many years. Jean liked to read and collect books. She was passionate about Grimm’s Fairy Tales books, and had a vast collection. Jean also loved to watch old movies, especially John Wayne pictures. She like car rides Up North with her husband Pete.
Those Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory include three children, Peter Watson Jr, Daniel (Cheryl) Watson, and Michael (Sue) Watson; grandchildren, Richard, Becca, Jenny, Matt, Eric (Toni), Dan (Richelle), Mike (Krista), Angie (Darren) Bishop, Deanna (Mitch), Darcy (Aaron), Lisa, and Robbie; and many great-grandchildren. She is further survived by siblings, Jerry, Jimmy, and Hazel Barfknecht; Barb Galinsky, and Janet Conkle; sister-in-law, Gwen Hoffman; daughter-in-law, Jackie Watson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband Peter E. Watson Sr; sons, David, Mark, and Kevin Watson; a daughter, Karen Bliss; and a grandson, Jason Watson.
A Graveside Service and Inurnment for Jean, Peter Sr. & Karen Bliss will be on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m at Bethel Cemetery in Evansville, Wisconsin.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton for their care and compassion.
