Jeanette Hausmann

Jeanette G. Hausmann, nee Horst, age 85, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Friday April 1, 2011 at Cedar Bay West.

She was born on April 7, 1925 in Hartford to the late Alfred and Hertha (nee Westphal) Horst. Jeanette grew up in Hartford. As a child she truly loved school. Jeanette was class secretary and graduated from Hartford Union High School third in the class of 1943. She was an active participant in 4-H and continued her involvement with her own children. She loved attending the Washington County Fair and entered many prize winning baked and canned goods as well as hand sewn items. Upon graduation, Jeanette worked at the Washington County Agents Office in West Bend from 1943 to 1947 and the West Bend Company in 1948.

On October 23, 1948, she was united in marriage to Vincent J. Hausmann at Immaculate Conception Church of St. Mary in West Bend. Together they raised their four children in West Bend. Jeanette had a love for gardening, cooking, canning, sewing. She found joy in being a wife, mother and wonderful homemaker. She was an avid diary writer, note taker and rarely missed sending a greeting card to anyone. She belonged to card club and was a sharp sheepshead player. Jeanette had deep faith in God and was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend all of her adult life. Jeanette is survived by her four children, Ron (Esther) Hausmann of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Joel (Carol) Hausmann of West Bend, Paul (Darlene) Hausmann of Allenton, and Mary (Steve) Binkley of West Bend; eleven grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Grandma the Jet", Vincent Hausmann, Valerie (Chris) Vos, Natalia (Matt) Wenger, Victoria (Mike) Moen, Jennifer (Lance) Roell, Ryan (Dana) Hausmann, Sarah (Dejesus) Corona, Jacob (fiancAC., Rachel Wantz) Hausmann, Rachel Hausmann; Matthew Binkley and Jason Binkley; 9 great-grandchildren, Isabella and Alexandra Wenger, John Paul and Therese Moen, Evan, Mason and Cullen Roell, Vander and Vosten Hausmann. She is further survived by, her brother, Alfred (Pearl) Horst of Hartford, three sisters, Viola Grady of Neosho, Elaine (Bill) Kaun of West Bend, and Gloria (Floyd) Luedtke of Shawano; former daughter-in-law, Patricia Hausmann of Milwaukee; sisters-in-law, Charlotte (LeRoy) Chapman of Shawano, Marcella (Ray) Boden of Hartford, Pat (Leo) Groh of West Bend, Helen Hausmann of West Bend, Therese Kohn of West Bend, Frances (Gordon) Wilhemi of Mesa, AZ; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 36 years, Vincent on November 20, 1984; sisters, Delores Kraueche, LaVerne Horst and Florence Horst; and brothers-in-law, Elroy Beilke, Jim Grady, Eugene (Verneda) Hausmann and Roger Kohn.

Funeral services in remembrance of Jeanette will be held on Thursday, April 7th at 5:00 pm at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Street, West Bend. Rev. Rob Donaldson will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 3:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday, in Washington County Memorial Park.

Memorials in Jeanette's name to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church or Cedar Bay West are appreciated by the family.

Jeanette will be deeply missed by her family, her dear friends and many relatives. We know she is at peace with our Lord and her memory will carry on in each of our hearts always.

Jeanette's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Gwen Johnson for her years of service and friendship, the staff at Cedar Bay West, Cedar Community Hospice and nurse, Tracey Kirsch at Cedar Community who was at her side along with the family when she died, for the exceptional care and compassion given to Jeanette.
