Jeanette M. Kuester, nee Walter, age 83, of West Bend, formerly of Big Cedar Lake, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2004 at St. Joseph's Community Hospital in West Bend.
She was born on January 14, 1921 on the family homestead farm in the town of Farmington to the late Henry and Tonia (nee Gerner) Walter. She graduated from West Bend High School class of 1939.
Jeanette worked for the Amity Company, then for many years at the National Food Store in Port Washington. She also worked at the former Kash & Karry Grocery Store and as a waitress at the Happy House Chinese Restaurant. She retired in 1986.
Jeanette was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. As a hobby Jeanette enjoyed working on Genealogy. She is survived by two sons, David (Kathleen) Zirbes of Big Cedar Lake and Mark Zirbes of West Bend; Thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Lucille Walter of Mesa, AZ; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Oscar Zirbes and Roman "Bud" Kuester; a son, Alan Zirbes; three sisters and four brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 29 at 11:00 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend. Rev. Gerald Brittain will be the presider and burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery in the town of Farmington. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church only from 10:00 am until the time of mass. Memorials to the Washington County Historical Society are appreciated.
