Jeanne M. Karl, age 55, of the town of Kewaskum, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012 at her residence.
She was born on October 7, 1956 in Kewaskum to the late Joseph and Alice (nee Wesenberg) Karl. Jeanne attended Holy Trinity grade school, Kewaskum High School and graduated from Marian College in Fond du Lac in 1977 with a degree in English and History. In 1988, she earned a degree from UW-Milwaukee in Administrative Leadership and in 1998 she attended St. Mary's University, MN and earned a degree in Pastoral Ministry.
She worked as principal at St. Paul's Catholic School in Genesee Depot and at St. Mary's Catholic School in West Bend for eight years. Most recently, she mentored teachers in a program at Marian College in Fond du Lac. Jeanne had a strong interest and dedication to Social Justice, Writing and American history. She touched many lives with her sense of humor, love of people from every walk of life, and teaching. Jeanne had a passion for and was involved in many outreach efforts especially in Guatemala. Through these efforts, she taught her students about the opportunities and responsibilities we all have to help those less fortunate not only close to home but throughout the world. She was loved and will be missed by all whom she came in contact with.
Jeanne loved animals and enjoyed vacationing in Minoqua.
A Memorial Mass of Christian burial in remembrance of Jeanne will be held on Thursday, February 23rd at 12:00 pm (noon) at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Parish. Rev. Robert Gosma will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of the mass. Inurnment will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery in Campbellsport.
