Jerold J. Mielkie

Jerold J. “Jerry” Mielkie, 65, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Tomah.


He was born on October 6, 1942, in Beaver Dam, the son of Ralph and Amelda (Steger) Mielkie.


Jerry served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War serving two tours in Vietnam and was employed by Nehl’s Farms in Juneau for many years. Jerry was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian and the John E. Miller American Legion Post 146 in Beaver Dam. One of his favorite pastimes was flying his model airplanes.


Survivors include his mother, Amelda Mielkie of West Bend; two brothers, Ervin (Darlene) Mielkie of St. Kilian and Richard (Kathleen) Mielkie of Elmore; two sisters, Bonnie (Darrel) Sabish and Ramona (Ronald, Jr.) Dins both of Elmore, three nieces, six nephews, 12 great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.


Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Ralph.


A Mass of Christian Burial for Jerry was held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2008, at St. Kilian Catholic Church, N189 County Road W, Campbellsport (in St. Kilian). Father Neil Zinthefer officiated and burial, with military graveside rites, followed in the parish cemetery.


Relatives and friends called on Sunday at the church from noon until the time of Mass.
