Jerome G. Mayer, 83, of the town of Wayne, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa.
He was born on September 25, 1923, in the town of Wayne, the son of the late Joseph and Cecilia (Peter) Mayer, and on May 11, 1944, he was united in marriage to Audrey Schaefer at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford. Audrey preceded him in death on May 9, 1998. On February 12, 2000, he was united in marriage to Doris (Zingelman) Beck at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian.
Jerome farmed in the town of Wayne and was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; four children, Robert (Shirley) Mayer of West Bend, Dolores Eder of Kewaskum, Darlene (Randy) Baerber of West Bend and Joan (John) Schlosser of Campbellsport; eight stepchildren, Michael (Dianne) Beck of Theresa, Robert (Diane) Beck and Jack (Barb) Beck both of West Bend, James (Felicia) Beck of Adell, Tom (Jenny) Beck of West Bend, Kathleen (Roger) Hansen of Cedarburg, Donna Beck (special friend, Larry Weinert) of West Bend and Sue (Dan) Hansen of Port Washington; a very dear friend of the Mayer family, Patsy Panzer of West Bend; ten grandchildren, a step-grandson, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jerome was preceded in death by a sister, Martha (Clarence) Sauer and a brother-in-law, Norman (Lucille) Schaefer.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jerome was held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian, N189 County Rd W, Campbellsport (Tn. of Ashford). Fr. Neil Zinthefer officiated and entombment was at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac.
Relatives and friends called on Tuesday at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
