Jerome P. Peters

Jerome P. Peters, 88, of the town of Farmington, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, December 11, 2013.

He was born on April 26, 1925, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Erwin and Lena (Boden) Peters, and on September 15, 1945, he was united in marriage to Bernice Marquardt at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend.

Jerome served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was employed by Bend Industries in West Bend, retiring after 41 years of service, and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michaels and the Knights of Columbus Father Casper Rehrl Council #1964 West Bend.

Jerome will fondly be remembered as an "accomplished puttzer" and as one who enjoyed listening to polka music. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.

Those Jerome leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 68 years, Bernice; five children, Gary (Sue) Peters of West Bend, Judy (John) Markestad of Portage, Steve (Barb) Peters of Glasgow, Kentucky, Donna (Roger) Kreis of Adell and Brian (Dawn) Peters of Appleton; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Peters of West Bend; two brothers, Fred (Rosie) Peters of LaCrosse and Earl (Pam) Peters of California; two brothers-in-law, Arthur (Marvel) Marquardt of West Bend and Robert (Lorna) Marquardt of Random Lake; two sisters-in-law, Olive (Jim) Esselman of Newburg and Mary Peters of West Bend, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jerome was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and David Peters; his mother and father-in-law, Viola and Philip Marquardt; a brother, Elroy Peters; a sister, Florence (Richard) Fries and a sister-in-law, Helen (Cecil) Schneider.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jerome was held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michaels. Father Edwin Kornath  officiated and burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Monday in the parish cemetery.

The Peters family greeted relatives and friends at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.

The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Jerome's arrangements.
