Joan C. Meilahn

Joan Caroline Meilahn, 66, of Kewaskum, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 12, 2012.


She was born on April 19, 1945 in West Bend, the daughter of the late Carl A. and Caroline P. (Klumb) Meilahn, and was raised on a farm in Kewaskum. She was one of four children.


Joan was a graduate of Kewaskum High School and was employed by Regal Ware Inc. in Kewaskum for 33 years. She was a proud member of the 25 Year Club.


Joan was an active bowler and held several league positions over 25 years. She loved fishing and playing cards and was a member of several sheepshead groups. Joan was an avid Packer and Brewer fan and was always up for entering a sports pool with her friend, Janet.


Joan was an active member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum all of her life. She lived at All About Life in Fond du Lac for the past six years, enjoying many friends and activities there as well.


Those Joan leaves behind to cherish her memory include her loving brother, John; her devoted sister, Kris; her brother-in-law, Bruce; her dear friend, Janet; her nephews, Casey and Greg; her nieces Leah and Stacy; her goddaughter, Kierra Kuehl and other relatives. Joan had many many other friends in the community as well. Her family and friends will miss her greatly.


A memorial service for Joan was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2012, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Drive in Kewaskum. Rev. Troy Swenson officiated.


The family received visitors at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.


Memorials to the American Diabetes Association are appreciated.


The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Joan’s arrangements.
