Joann G. "Tillie" Breit

JoAnn G. “Tillie” Breit, 71, of Knowles, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at her home with her family at her side.


She was born on February 23, 1940, in Lowell, the daughter of the late Louis and Ethel (Weigert) Firari Sr., and on October 19, 1963, she was united in marriage to Raymond Breit at Holy Family Catholic Church in Reeseville.


JoAnn was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will fondly be remembered for the joy she received from collecting angels, caring for children and going rummaging. JoAnn will be deeply missed by her husband, her family and by all who knew her.


Those JoAnn leaves behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 47 years, Raymond; two daughters, Carol Petri and Vicki (Craig) Loomans both of Lomira; five brothers, Herman Firari of Lowell, Robert Firari of Beaver Dam, Louis Firari Jr. of Neceda, Ronald Firari of Cincinnati, Ohio and Milton (Luciell) Firari of Beaver Dam; three sisters, Dorothy Schwoch of Horicon, Nancy Dippong of Beaver Dam and Shirley Breit of Brownsville; a sister-in-law, Cecelia Reen; a brother-in-law, Ralph Breit of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Dennis (Jessica) Petri Jr., Elizabeth Petri, Kurtis Petri and Nicholas (Jessica) Loomans; seven great-grandchildren, Shyann, Breann, Roxann and Dennis III Petri, Tatium Schickert, Brandon and Natalie Loomans, countless nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dennis Petri Sr. and two brothers, Edward and Raymond Firari.


A Memorial Mass for JoAnn was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, W3081 County Highway Y (Lomira) in LeRoy. Father Tom Biersack officiated and entombment of her cremains followed in Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac.


JoAnn’s family received relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.


The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira was entrusted with JoAnn’s arrangements.
