Joanna Bazan, age 25, of West Bend, passed away on Saturday April 23, 2011.
Joanna was born on December 31, 1985 in Nuremberg, Germany to retired SFC Joseph and Joyce (nee McCoy) Bazan while her father was serving in the United States Army. She lived in North Carolina and Georgia before moving with her family to West Bend when she was nine. Joanna attended West Bend West High School and graduated in 2004. She moved to Madison where she worked at Captel as a telephone operator and just recently moved back to West Bend to be closer to her family. Joanna had a passion for animals and enjoyed being outdoors in nature. She was very artistic and loved "oldies" music and cooking.
Joanna is survived by her parents, sister, Julianna (Tim Steffan) Bazan of West Bend; three brothers, Joseph Bazan of Jacksonville, FL, Chris (Candy) Marcum of Fairmont, WV, and Jeff (Carrie) Marcum of Martinsburg, WV; maternal grandmother, Alice McCoy of West Bend; nephew, Shane Marcum of Fairmont, WV; two nieces, Alexis Marcum of Fairmont, WV and Alyson Marcum of Martinsburg, WV; special friend, Brett Myers of Madison, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charles McCoy and paternal grandparents, Joseph and Violet Bazan.
A memorial service in remembrance of Joanna will be held on Saturday, April 30th at 3:00 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street, West Bend with Dan Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
