John W. Heberer, Jr., 72, of Kewaskum, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2008, at SynergyHealth St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town of Polk.
He was born on August 29, 1935, in Campbellsport, the son of the late John and Mildred (Krueger) Heberer, Sr. and on September 1, 1984, he was united in marriage to Carole Wesenberg at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum.
John proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum and St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. He was a truck driver for many years and enjoyed NASCAR and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Carole; four children, Allen (Barbara) Heberer of Kewaskum, Bryan (Joan) Heberer of Mt. Calvary, Kim (Michael) Drehmel of Fond du Lac and Keith Heberer (special friend, Dominique) of Kewaskum; seven grandchildren, Crystal, Candice, Jason, Ashley, Nicholas, Christopher and Brandon; six brothers, Roger (Audrey) Heberer of town of Auburn, Norman (Reenie) Heberer of Wabeno, Myron Heberer of Kewaskum, William (Judy) Heberer of Waupaca, Russell (LuAnn) Heberer of Campbellsport and Terry (Suzanne) Heberer of Kewaskum; his former wife, Berdell Heberer of Fond du Lac; his mother-in-law, Doris Wesenberg of Kewaskum; a brother-in-law, Fred A. (Kathleen) Wesenberg of Kewaskum, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Steven; his father-in-law, Fred Wesenberg, Sr.; a brother-in-law, Thomas Wesenberg and two sisters-in-law, Pamela and Patricia Wesenberg.
A memorial service for John was held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum with Rev. Troy Swenson officiating. Military honor rites by members of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum followed the service. Cremation has taken place.
John’s family received visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
