John C. Kinyon, 89, of the town of Lomira, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in hospice care at his home with his family at his side.
He was born on July 24, 1923, in the town of Le Roy, the son of the late Clark and Theresia (Dyer) Kinyon, and on August 21, 1948, he was united in marriage to Geraldine Franke in Brownsville. Geraldine preceded John in death on November 6, 1994.
John served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a lifelong farmer and worked at Mayville Metal for 18 years. John was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lomira where he served on the council and on many other church committees. He was also a member of Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post 347 Lomira.
Those John leaves behind to cherish his memory include two children, Wendy (Jon) Thibaudeau of Overland Park , Kansas and Tracy (Susan) Kinyon of Lomira; four grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Thibaudeau and Ryan and Adam Kinyon, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Kinyon and a sister, Ruth (Byron) Marx.
Funeral services for John were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lomira. Rev. Dan Schmidt officiated and burial, with military honors by members of Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post 347 Lomira, followed the service in the church cemetery.
Relatives and friends called at the Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
