John W. "Jack" Nauman

November 21, 1927 — April 18, 2008

John W. "Jack" Nauman, age 80 of West Bend, formerly of Grafton, passed away Friday April 18, 2008 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born on November 21, 1927 in Milwaukee to the late Walter and Alice (nee Magerfleisch) Nauman. Jack graduated from Shorewood High School and attended Marquette University. On June 18, 1949 Jack was united in marriage to Carolyn Barth in Milwaukee. Together they made their home in Milwaukee, and later in Mequon and Grafton.

Jack owned the Nauman Corporation, which sold real estate. Later he worked in the real estate department at First Financial. Lastly he owned Ozaukee Appraisals and worked as a property appraiser.

Jack was a member and former elder of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, and a former member of the Jaycees in Whitefish Bay. He enjoyed golf, sheepshead, and sports of all kinds. He also enjoyed his cabin on Echo Lake in the U.P. A good joke and his great sense of humor endeared him to many.

He is survived by three children, Holly (Dennis) Rakocy of Chanhassen, MN, Scott Nauman of Appleton, and Dan (Toni Farrell) Nauman of Kewaskum; two grandchildren, Betsy (fiancAC. Matt Hakola) Rakocy of Boston, MA, and Abby Rakocy of Wheeling, IL; a sister, Joan Weidler of Menomonee Falls; three sisters-in-law, Millie Nauman of Florida, Sharlane (Alan) Rosenberger of Marietta, GA, and Barbara Barth of Jackson; other relatives and friends.

Jack was preceded in death by a sister and her husband, Jane & Robert Braun; a brother, William Nauman; and two brothers-in-law, Harry Weidler, and Ronald Barth.

Funeral services in remembrance of Jack will be held on Monday April 21st at 7:00 pm at First Baptist Church (2300 S. Main St.). Pastor Bruce Dunford will officiate. Visitation will be Monday at the church only from 6:00 pm until the time of service. Entombment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. Memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
