John F. Neumann, age 87, of West Bend passed away on Mon., Dec. 19, 2011.
He was born on August 5, 1924, in Milwaukee to the late John and Rose (nee Klemens) Neumann. John graduated from Rufus King High School in the class of 1943. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during Word War II in the African and European Theaters.
On December 21, 1946, he was united in marriage to Carol Stanek at Bethany Church in Milwaukee. John attended UW-Stout and UW-Milwaukee where he earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education. He taught at Emmerson Elementary, Lafollette Elementary, and was the Principal at Grantosa Elementary School.
In 1996, they moved from Brookfield to Cedar Community in West Bend. John enjoyed making wood carvings of ducks and wildlife and also working with stain glass.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Neumann of West Bend; daughter, Valerie (Ross Wetherbee) Neumann; grandson and best pal, Bret W. Neumann; brother, Roger (Sue) Neumann of Naples, FL; other relatives and friends.
In honor of John's wishes, no services will be held.
