John Pearce

December 29, 1948 — January 24, 2013

John T. Pearce, age 64, of West Bend, transitioned to his new life on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in the Town of Polk.

He was born on December 29, 1948 in Hartford to the late Thomas "Luke" and Margaret (nee Johnson) Pearce. John grew up in North Lake. He graduated from University Lake School in the class of 1967. In 1971, John earned his BS in Liberal Arts from Marquette University. In 1990, he earned his Master's ABD in child and family therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

John was a child and family therapist at Affiliated Clinical as well as a non-denominational ordained minister.

He was an active member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and sang in their choir. John was a former member of New Hope United Church of Christ and sang in the choir there as well. He had an affinity for music, enjoyed photography, the arts, literature, and nature.

John cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with good company.

He is survived by his three children, Andrew (Bronwyn Mills) Pearce of Wales, Megan (Christopher) McKibbins of Waukesha, and Gwin Pearce of West Bend; three grandchildren, Natasha, Joshua, and Olivia Garczynski all of Waukesha; special nephew, Jerry Braatz; four cousins, Chris Allen, Guy Jensen, Judy Groh, and Bill Johnson, other nieces and nephews; his first wife, Mary Pares; his second wife, Sherry Pearce; other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death, by his parents; sister, Joan; and brother, Thomas.

A memorial service in remembrance of John will be held on Friday, February 1st at 4:00 p.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 501 Walnut Street, West Bend. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Judy and John Boehm for their friendship and support, and to Dr. Tye, Midwest Dialysis, and the transplant team at St. Luke's Medical Center for the care they gave John.
