John W. Podgorski, age 91 of West Bend, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport.
He was born on October 27, 1915 in Milwaukee to the late Walter and Josephine (nee Zuowska) Podgorski.
On September 20, 1941 John was united in marriage to Wanda Krass in Dubuque, IA. Together they resided in Milwaukee and John worked for Allis Chalmers. John served in the U.S. Army Engineer Corp during WWII. After the service John went back to Allis Chalmers. He also started John's TV & Radio in West Allis in 1954, which his son, Jack, later took over. John also farmed in the town of West Bend near Nabob until his retirement in 1975.
John is survived by his wife, Wanda; two children, Barbara Forster of Greenfield, and John A. "Jack" (Janet) Podgorski of West Bend; four grandchildren, Michelle Forster, Tammalla (Neal) Wishowski, Rochelle (Victor) Segura, and Carrie Podgorski; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded by a son, Greg.
Private family services and inurnment for John will take place at a later date in St. Adalbert's Catholic Chapel and Cemetery in Milwaukee.
