John R. Stark, age 90, of West Bend, passed away on Friday April 24, 2009 at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport.
John was born on October 16, 1918 in Milwaukee to the late Robert and Laura (nee Petri) Stark. John served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On January 19, 1946, John was united in marriage to Marion Elizabeth Huth at Messiah Ev. Lutheran Church in Bayview. Marion preceded him in death on July 17, 2008. John worked as a meat cutter before he went on to work for Babcock & Wilcox.
John was a former member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Allis and a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church - Cedar Lake.
He is survived by his two sons, Michael (Jerrolyn) Stark of Mukwonago, and Robert (Lynn) Stark of Green Bay; two grandchildren, Cassandra and Kimberly; two great-grandchildren; Kristine and Jason; his sister, Helen Huth of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marion; and brother, Bill Stark.
A funeral service in remembrance of John will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington St.), West Bend. Rev. Paul Reede will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI.
