John Steger, 96, of West Bend, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.
He was born November 17, 1913 in Cedarburg to the late Robert and Louisa (nee Mesche) Steger. He married Hattie Hass on June 20, 1942 in Chester, SD. Hattie passed away December 16, 2002.
John was employed at Pick Mfg. in West Bend for more than 25 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend for many years.
He is survived by two children, Carmen (Richard) Paulus of Republic, MI, and Robert Steger of West Bend; two grandchildren, Jessica (Nicholas) Piemonte of Carol Stream, IL, and Brent Paulus of Elgin, IL; two great-granddaughters, Natalie and Gianna Piemonte; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services in remembrance of John will be held on Saturday, February 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. The Rev. David Schoob of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
