Joseph T. Martinez

Joseph “Big Papa” T. Martinez, 36, of West Bend passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018.

He was born on February 23, 1982 to Rick Strobel and Tanya Ottmer in Hartford WI.  Joe was a hard worker and did many different jobs over the years including painting, drywalling, and working at the recycling center. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, and Native American life. Joe loved cooking, music, and all animals. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a very caring person. Joe made many memories with people and impacted so many lives. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Those Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory include his mother, Tanya & Lou Ottmer; his father, Rick Strobel; three sisters, Andrea (Fiancé Dennis) Martinez, Aleesha Poss, and Nikki Habenicht; two brothers, Ricky “James Martinez” Strobel, and Jeremy Strobel; his girlfriend, Brooke Schopp, her two children, Samy Schopp and Katie Schopp, and her parents, Ken Schopp; grandmother, Consuelo Martinez; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jose, Martinez Sr.; a great aunt, Nina Panfil; and cousin Cory Larsen.

A celebration of life in remembrance of Joe will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at the Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
