Joyce Corbett

February 13, 1948 — March 31, 2011

Joyce Corbett, nee Biersack, age 63, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday March 31, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital in the Town of Polk after an 8 month battle with cancer.

She was born on February 13, 1948 in West Bend to the late Victor and Elvira (nee Abel) Biersack. Joyce graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1966. On May 15, 1970, she was united in marriage to Jeffrey Corbett at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Together they made their home in West Bend.

In 1978, Joyce began working as a real-estate agent in West Bend until her retirement in July of 2010 from Coldwell Banker. At one time during her real estate career she co-owned Professional Real Estate Co., located in Barton. She enjoyed all the people she met and friendships developed during her 32 years as a Realtor. Joyce was a life member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time relaxing up north at "Grandma's little house" near Hayward. Joyce especially enjoyed the vacations with her family and the alone time she spent with her four granddaughters. She also very much enjoyed the peace and relaxation of being outdoors and spending quiet time reading, gardening, cooking, crocheting and playing cards. Joyce did volunteer work for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Ronald McDonald House. Joyce was a wonderful mom and grandmother and is survived by her two loving sons, Shawn (AnnMarie) Corbett and Jonathan (Jill) Corbett both of West Bend; four granddaughters, Jessica, Danielle, Kelsey and Clara Corbett; two sisters, Jean (Gary) Markgraf of Dallas, TX and Karen (Tom) Miller of West Bend; brother-in-law, Joe (Cec) Corbett of Appleton; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jeffrey in 1996; and parents-in-law, Bob and Marge Corbett.

Funeral services in remembrance of Joyce will be held on Sunday, April 3rd at 5:00 pm at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Street, West Bend. Rev. Guy Roberts will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Sunday from 2:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will be at 10:00 am on Monday, in Washington County Memorial Park.

Memorials in Joyce's name to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, MS Society - Wisconsin Chapter or the American Cancer Society are appreciated by the family.

Joyce had great appreciation for the compassion and care that she received from Dr. Tamez, Dr. Smale, Dr. Arshad, and the entire staff at the Alyce and Elmore Kraemer Cancer Care Center.
