Judith L. "Judy" Braun

October 25, 1940 — May 21, 2012

Judith L. “Judy” Braun, 71, of Kewaskum, passed away at her home on Monday, May 21, 2012, with her family at her side.


She was born on October 25, 1940, in West Bend, the daughter of the late Edward and Vera (Averill) Schacht, and on May 14, 1960, she was united in marriage to Alphonse “Al” Braun at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend.


Judy was employed in the office of the West Bend Company for 20 years and later worked for Amity Leather in West Bend for five years.


She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michaels. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and reading. She will be deeply missed by her husband, her family and by all who knew her.


Those Judy leaves behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 52 years, Al; four children, Jim (Diane) Braun of Omro, Jill (Paul) Bowers-Reynebeau of Oshkosh, Joy (Matt) Jensema of Waunakee and John Braun of Rothschild; six grandchildren, Brianna and Brady Braun, Kendall Bowers, Allison, Molly and Cassidy Jensema; a brother, Dennis (JoAnne) Schacht of West Bend; three sisters, Carol (Lowell) Fischer of Papillion, Nebraska, Betty (Jim) Nixdorf of West Bend and Barb Schacht (Lillian Wiegel) of Greenfield, other relatives and friends.


In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Brian Bowers.


A Mass of Christian Burial for Judy was held at noon on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michaels. Father Edwin Kornath officiated and burial followed in the parish cemetery.


Relatives and friends called at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.


The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Judy’s arrangements.


Judy’s family extended their heartfelt appreciation to Cedar Lake Hospice, Dr. Klausmeier and Dr. Olson for the compassionate care provided to Judy.
