Judy R. Heglund (nee Rydz), age 61, of West Bend, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2009 at Cedar Lake Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on February 19, 1947 in Port Washington, to Raymond and Joyce (nee Fischer) Rydz. Judy attended Homestead High School. On June 22, 1968 Judy was united in marriage to John "Red" Heglund at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. She was formerly employed at Taylor Electronics, Fromn Lab and SPI Lighting all in the Mequon area. Judy enjoyed roller skating, bowling with the Gobstoppers and playing golf. She also enjoyed traveling up north to the family farm and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Red; her daughter, Heidi Heglund of West Bend; two grandchildren, Anthony Haliwell and Allison Bartley; her mother, Joyce Rydz of Grafton; a brother Raymond "Butch" (fiancAC.e Mary) Rydz, Jr., of Milwaukee; two sisters-in-law, Linda (Andy) Jensen of Slinger and Sonya (Clifton) Campbell of Minneapolis, MN; a niece, Crystal (Dave) Comerford of Mequon; three nephews, Eryc (Waynette) Rydz of West Bend, Dan O'Connell of Slinger and Nolan Jensen of Slinger; aunts, uncles, many other relatives and close friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Rydz.
A funeral service in remembrance of Judy will be held Friday, February 13th at 6:00 p.m. at the Myrhum~Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington Street). Rev. Larry Prahl of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Grafton will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
