Judith A. Kohn (nee Jackovich), age 68, of Newburg, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls.
She was born on December 13, 1939 at her home in Dodgeville, MI to the late Albert and Sylvia (Leiviska) Jackovich. She graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1957. Judy moved to Milwaukee shortly thereafter and worked for Schlitz Brewery. She met Roy Kohn and they were married in June of 1959 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg. They moved to Saukville in 1959 where they had their five children. She was also employed at Tecumseh Power Company in Grafton, WI for approximately 25 years.
When Judy was young, she enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and bowling with her family. She also enjoyed playing sheepshead and going to tournaments. She enjoyed going to various casinos. Her favorite time of year was the fall because she loved to see the beautiful colors. Judy enjoyed traveling to different parts of the country, especially visiting her cousin, Larry, in California and Arizona. Judy owned and operated the WhateversInn, in Newburg, for the past 21 years. Her daughter, Kim, has been her partner for the past 15 years. On Mondays, when the bar was closed, it was considered a "journey day". She would go to movies and visit different restaurants with her good friends, Karen and Joy. She enjoyed her family, with special love for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children, Roy (Lisa) Kohn of West Bend, Carl (Connie) Kohn of West Bend, Tim (Betsy) Kohn of Fillmore, Kim Kohn of Newburg and Chris (Julie) Kohn of Fillmore; seven grandchildren, Kate Peters, Nichole (Jessie) Przepiora, Trevor, Taylore, Kody, Levy and Jordan Kohn; a great-granddaughter, Aviana Peters; a cousin, Larry (Marsha) Jackovich, of Arizona; her sister, Donna Zeutzius of Green Bay; her dear friends, Karen and Joy who were her traveling companions; other dear relatives and friends.
A memorial service to remember Judy will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. Frank Baiocchi of Jesus Our Shepherd Church, in Nenno, will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3:00 until the time of service.
