June E. Berg, 79, of Kewaskum, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2008, at Cedar Lake Health Care Center in the town of West Bend.
She was born on June 8, 1929, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late George and Hilda (Tonn) Trindl, and on November 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to Elwood “Woody” Berg at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
June was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum, where she was actively involved with the Ladies Aid, the Ladies Guild and the Funeral Lunch Committee. She was also a past President of the Washington County League of Women Voters, a former member of the Kewaskum Board of Education and active in many local political campaigns as well as in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society and Lutherans for Life in Fond du Lac.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Woody; six children, Odin (Pat) Berg of Hampshire, Illinois, Paul Berg of Washington DC, Leif (Barbara) Berg of Durham, North Carolina, Matthew Berg of Canton, Michigan, Eric (Ruth) Berg of Colgate and Alexandra Enk of Menomonee Falls; a son-in-law, Barry Roberts of Pittsford, New York; eight grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her daughter, Hanna Roberts.
Funeral services for June were held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2008, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Drive in Kewaskum. Rev. Troy Swenson officiated and cremation followed the traditional service.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services.
