June Duenkel, age 72 years, of West Bend, was called home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2024.
June was born on November 5, 1952, in West Bend to Arthur and Myrtle Duenkel (nee Schaefer). June was united in marriage to David Simons on July 2, 1976, and later divorced on October 9, 1997.
June graduated in 1970 from West Bend High School and later earned a Small Business Certificate from Moraine Park Technical College.
She worked at Simplicity Manufacturing Inc. in Port Washington for 13 years, then most recently as a Quality Assurance Inspector at Serigraph in West Bend.
June loved feeding birds and various critters, gardening and tending to a plethora of plants and herbs, repotting and rehoming aloe/spider/agave "stegasaurus" plants, and various species of flowers. She enjoyed socializing with her sister Betty, cousins Bonnie and Peggy for "a girls' day out", watching and laughing at episodes of Svengoolie, The Golden Girls, Beverly Hillbillies, and other similarly themed shows. June also loved watching Saturday morning cooking shows with her daughter and grand-doggie, such as The Kitchen, Julia Child, and others.
Those June leaves behind to cherish her memory include her son, Trevor Simons, and daughter, Christi (Ryan) Mueller. She is further survived by her sister, Betty (Vince) Janz; her brothers, Ray Duenkel and Rich Duenkel; sister-in-law, Mary Duenkel; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Duenkel.
Respecting her wishes, there will not be a visitation/service, but a celebration of life will be arranged, and family/friends will be contacted with details.
Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service has been entrusted with June’s arrangements.
June will be greatly missed by family, friends, and other relatives.
