June C. Kneifl, age 86, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Fond du Lac County Health Care Center in Fond du Lac.
She was born on April 24, 1919 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Brown) Batzler, and on October 11, 1944, she was united in marriage to Jerome Kneifl at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
During their married life, June traveled extensively with her husband who served in the U. S. Navy. She was a proud Navy wife and very patriotic. The couple was very involved with Veteran’s of Foreign Wars. Jerome preceded his wife in death on March 27, 1982.
June was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian.
Survivors include a brother, Joseph Batzler of Menomonee Falls
Two sisters-in-law, Marie Kneifl of Milwaukee and Helen Batzler of Bermuda Dunes, California, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and John Batzler; four sisters, Florence (Lawrence) Rinzel, Margaret Batzler, Lucille (Daniel) Kaczmarek and Vernie (John) Fox and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Batzler.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at St. Kilian Catholic Church, N189 County Road W, Campbellsport. Father Jerome Rinzel and Father Neil Zinthefer concelebrated and burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
