Karen Diana Haugen Pansing, 65, W7586 Valley View Rd., Random Lake, Wisconsin, passed away July 29, 2011, at her home after a courageous battle against lung cancer.
She was born Karen Diana Erickson on November 5, 1945, in Escanaba, Michigan, the daughter of the late Stanley J. and Pearl L. Erickson.
Karen managed El Rey’s restaurant in West Bend, Wisconsin for many years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Phil Pansing; her five children (with first husband, Bjorn Haugen) Bjorn J. (Amanda) Haugen, Daniel (Ashley) Haugen, Kari (Howie) Bruss, Kim (Tim) Pawlak and Eric (Araea) Haugen; and 15 grandchildren, Tiffani, Andrea, Pierre, Mikaila, Violet, Howie, Alyssa, Harley, Breanna, Charlie, Max, Dakota, Sierra, Alythea and Sarah. She is also survived by her sisters Marie O’Brien and Patricia Erickson, and brothers Tom and Stanley Erickson and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service was held at her home, W7586 Valley View Rd., Random Lake, Wisconsin, on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. Burial was in Bark River Cemetery in Bark River, Michigan.
Relatives and friends called on Saturday, August 6, at Karen’s home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum assisted Karen’s family.
