Karen A. Ackerman

Karen A. Ackerman (nee Moran), 87, of West Bend, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.

Karen was born on September 30, 1936, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Edward and Dolores (nee Hauck) Moran. On June 16, 1956, she was united in marriage to Alfred “Al” Ackerman at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Karen was a legal secretary for 46 years and employed by several law offices. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and visits with her family, along with the family pet, Kitty.

Those Karen leaves behind include her husband of 67 years, Al; four children, Leslie Bieri, Jean Ackerman, Beverly (Ron) Sawyer, and Mark Ackerman; grandchildren, Craig and Mike Bieri, Brian and Eric Chilson, Leanne Bartelt, Casey Ackerman, Peter (Kali) Sawyer, Jill Sawyer, and Dustin Ackerman; several great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Elcina Buck; three nieces, Lori Moze, Joanne Moze, and Sarah (Keith) Czaplewski; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tom Bieri; a sister and brother-in-law, Mike and Mary Moze; and a brother-in-law, Gene Buck.

VISITATION: Karen’s family will greet relatives and friends at the Myrhum – Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, 1315 W. Washington Street, in West Bend, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

SERVICE: A service for Karen will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Milwaukee.
