Kathryn “Katie” Paine, nee Masters, 89, of West Bend, formerly of Big Cedar Lake, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital following a short illness.
Kathryn was born in Milwaukee on February 9, 1925 to the late William and Margaret (nee Coakley) Masters. Kathryn grew up in Milwaukee where she met Charles Paine. They were united in marriage on July 21, 1945 in Milwaukee and were married for 37 years until Charles passed away on November 7, 1982. She was a member of the West Bend Women’s Club and was an avid Bridge player.
Kathryn is survived by her three children; Lynda (Gregg) Zaner, Nancie Heaps, and Charles (Patti Haney) Paine III; five grandchildren, Gregg “Chip” (Elizabeth) Zaner Jr., Heidi (Korry) Vorndran, Taylor (Abby) Heaps, Parker Heaps, and Charles “Corey” Paine IV; three great-grandchildren, twins Haley and Gavin Vorndran and Taylor “TJ” Heaps Jr.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; her brothers and sisters; and her grandson, Kramer Cook Heaps.
Visitation in remembrance of Kathryn will be held at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, on Friday, April 4 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a private family service to follow.
