In Loving Memory of Kathy L. Van Altena, age 39, of West Bend, who passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2009.
She was born on September 13, 1970 in Milwaukee to James and Gloria (nee Wiedmeyer) Van Altena. Kathy was raised in Richfield and graduated from Hartford Union High School in the class of 1988. She worked at A & J Automotive for several years and was recently employed at Schreiber Foods. She loved playing darts and was a member of a dart league at Neuy's Tap. Kathy loved getting together with friends, cooking, gardening and arranging flowers. Her family was very important to her. She loved to go fishing with her dad and enjoyed watching her nephews play football. Kathy also loved to ride Harleys and it was always her dream to some day be able to own one.
Kathy is survived by her parents, Jim and Gloria Van Altena of West Bend; her sister, Connie Van Altena of Hartford; her nieces and nephews, Amanda, Anthony, Damien, Jordan, and William; her great-niece, Olivia; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services in remembrance of Kathy will be held on Sunday, October 25th at 4:00 p.m. at the Myrhum~Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street, West Bend with Deacon Ron Schneider officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Cremation will follow at Myrhum- Patten Funeral & Cremation Service.
