Kelly Lynne (Adam) Deaton

September 27, 1968 — December 22, 2024

Kelly Lynne Deaton (nee Adam), 56, passed away suddenly of natural causes on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at her home.

Born on September 27, 1968, in Beaver Dam, Kelly was the daughter of Ronald and Marjorie (nee Foster) Adam. She was united in marriage to Charles “Charlie” Deaton on June 5, 1999. Kelly graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1986, subsequently attended UW-Oshkosh for Criminal Justice, and then received additional education in Chicago at Roosevelt University where she received her degree as a paralegal.

After her graduation, Kelly worked as a paralegal for many years before she went on to work in her truest ministry of hospice care, where she could showcase her natural talent of caring for others. Aside from her care for others, Kelly was a devout wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and caring member of Community Church in West Bend and loved being part of the community there, networking and spreading the Word of God. She enjoyed taking in the beauty of His world and had a green thumb; Kelly was in her element when she had her hands in the dirt to plant and harvest beautiful flowers and vegetation.

Exercise was another one of Kelly’s passions; she believed in the value of eating healthy and making the most of every day – the best days being ones that she shared with her most loved grandchildren, and her dogs Grace and Nala. Seeing her family at gatherings and parties truly made her whole.

She was a fervent optimist, and there was rarely a time Kelly wasn’t smiling. Her greatest zeal was to make others happy and bring joy into their lives. She so deeply understood the world and made every effort to connect with people the way they wanted to be connected. Though life will be hard to imagine and manage without her here, Kelly leaves a smile in our hearts that we will carry with us every day, and that we can share with others in her honor.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Charlie Deaton; two children, Alex Deaton and Jaena Deaton; two grandchildren, Naomi and Misha Deaton; mother, Marjorie Adam; two sisters, Julie (Todd) Neuendorf and Penny (Doug) Schmid; four in-laws, Alynne Nichols, Loren (Teresa) Deaton, Suzi Deaton, and Barry Deaton; nine nieces and nephews; other friends and relatives.

Those that preceded Kelly in death include her father, Ronald Adam; grandparents; in- laws, Phil and Beverly Deaton; brother in-law, Andy Deaton.
