Kenneth W. Jahncke, age 93, of West Bend, passed away Friday May 9, 2008 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph's Hospital, West Bend.
He was born on August 27, 1914 in Milwaukee to the late William and Caroline (nee Suddmann) Jahncke, and was united in marriage to Harriet Deisseroth on May 25, 1940 at Faith United Church of Christ in Milwaukee.
Together they made their home in Milwaukee, and Ken worked for Chain Belt Metal Company. He later was employed at Standard Sheet Metal Company in Milwaukee, until his retirement in 1976.
After retiring they moved to the Cedar Lake Campus, Kettle Heights Village, and for the past three years have lived at Cedar Bay East.
Ken was a lifetime member of Faith United Church of Christ in Milwaukee. He was a member of the West Bend Masonic Lodge #138 F&AM, the Tripoli Shrine, the Tripoli Chanters for over 45 years, and the Scottish Rite Consistory. He was a former member of the West Bend Noon Kiwanis Club, and started the Golden K Kiwanis Club at Cedar Community. Ken was also an active volunteer for over 35 years at Cedar Community.
Ken was the world's best husband, lover, and friend, for 68 years to his wife Harriet; he is also survived by a brother, Robert (Lois) Jahncke of Brookfield; a niece Kathy (Gene) Schaeber of Sussex; a nephew, Donald (Sue) Jahncke of the Town of Erin; other relatives, and many wonderful friends.
A memorial service in remembrance of Ken will be held on Saturday at 2:30 PM at the Cedar Community Theater (5595 HWY Z, West Bend). Rev. Susan Kolb will officiate. Visitation will be at the Cedar Theater on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Memorials to Cedar Community Foundation or Partners in Caring are appreciated.
Cremation took place at Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, and entombment of his cremated remains will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
