Kenneth R. “Ken” Koth, 92, of Cedarburg, formerly of Kewaskum, went to his heavenly home to be with his Savior on January 15, 2025, with family by his side.
Ken was born on March 22, 1932, the son of the late Alfred and Erna (Birkholz) Koth. He spent his early years in Boltonville, a place he called home until 1988. Ken was brought to faith in God when he was baptized in 1945 and then confirmed in 1954. He graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1950, where he was a letter winner in sports all four years. Following High School, Ken answered the call to serve his country and proudly served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War from 1951-1953, stationed in Texas and Germany as an Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gunner. Ken was united in marriage to Carol Schmidt on September 25, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee, and they shared 69 years of marriage. Ken and Carol were blessed with two children, a daughter, Shary, and a son, Terry, and they lost a son, Tim at birth. Ken dedicated 44 years to the Gehl Company in West Bend and was an esteemed member of the Hexelbank Club. He also was an active member of the American Legion. Ken enjoyed bowling, fishing in the north woods, cheering for the Brewers, and attending athletic events for his son and grandchildren. He was a self-taught handyman, capable of fixing anything that came his way.
Those left to cherish Ken’s memory include daughter, Shary (John) Witte; son, Terry (Lori) Koth; grandchildren, Kali (Chris) West, Kyle (Corrine) Witte, Taylor (Andrea) Koth, and Morgan Koth; great-grandchildren, Kierstyn, Kenlyn, Karyss West, Landon and Skylar Witte, Brooklyn and Madison Koth; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Narges, Lois and Gayl Schmidt; nieces and nephews.
