Kenneth F. Meller, 86,found peace on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center, Grafton.
Ken was born on October 16, 1927 to the late Edward and Myrtle (nee Uchetil) Meller in Milwaukee WI. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947. On Sept 6, 1952 he was united in marriage to Lorraine Schwartz at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
He worked for Evinrude Outboard Motor Company and retired because of illness after 27 years of service. He and his family enjoyed annual summer trips to a cottage in Minocqua. Ken also enjoyed playing golf, watching NASCAR races, playing cards and video games on his computer. Ken was passionate about spending time with his family and was a loving 'papa' to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lorrie; three children, Karen (Peter) Stankowski, Susan (David) Immel, and Steven Meller; five grandchildren, Matthew and Kari Stankowski, Shannon (Eric) Doberstein, Nicole (Justin) Powell, and Jeremy Klimo; three great-grandchildren, Mya Doberstein, Lakin and Landon Powell; sister, Phyllis Jiran; brother, Robert Meller; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Don and Tom Meller.
A Memorial Service in remembrance of Ken will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 4:00 pm at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church (1025 S. 7th Ave.)West Bend. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the Doctors, Nurses, and Nursing Assistants who cared for Ken with kindness and compassion, especially Dr. Francis Downey and Nurse Practitioners Betsy & Kari.
