Kenneth E. “Ken” Darmody, 69, of Kewaskum, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 14, 2015, from a heart attack.
Ken was born on August 27, 1946, in Milwaukee, to the late Clyde and Mildred (Ahlers) Darmody and graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1965. In June of 1965, Ken enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. In 1999, Ken was united in marriage to Sue Bastian.
Ken worked within the tool and die industry and in later years as a machine tool instructor. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, his beloved Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Ken especially enjoyed spending time with his loved ones.
Those Ken leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife and best friend, Sue; three children, Stacey (Greg) Hockett, Michael (Shelly) Darmody and Kelly Darmody; four step-children, Laura (Russ) Westergaard, Lisa Bastian, Katie (Tony) Singer and Kara Bastian; nine grandchildren, Ashton, Sarah, Riley, Michaela, Jeremy, Jordan, Abby, C.J. and Reilly; a mother-in-law, Mildred Zurn; three siblings, Cheryl (Don) Thill, Keith (Connie) Darmody and Kim (Candi) Darmody; a sister-in-law, Judy Genthe; six brothers-in-law, Richard (Karen), Gary (Debra), Bob, Jeff, Tim (Kay) and Tom (Lisa) Zurn, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by a father-in-law, Robert Zurn and a brother-in-law, Dave Zurn.
In honor of Ken’s wishes, a private family memorial service with military honor rites will be held at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Kathy Hospice or the West Bend Boys and Girls Club are appreciated.
