Kenneth "Ken" Kremer

May 29, 1939 — November 11, 2023

Kenneth J. Kremer, age 84 years, of Fond du Lac was called home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2023, at Oak Hills Terrace Assisted Living Waukesha.

Ken was born on May 29, 1939, in Fond du Lac to Herbert and Margaret Kremer (Lohry).  He was united in marriage to Carol Ann Schwartz on October 7, 1961.

Ken was a trained machinist who worked most of his life for the Soo-Line Railroad and Giddings and Lewis. After he retired, he spent some time working for Galow Group Home with troubled youth. Ken was a proud veteran of the 32nd Infantry Division of the US Army. In his free time, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He especially loved pheasant hunting with his German Shorthair dogs.  In his youth, he enjoyed playing baseball. When his children were growing up, he was a colorful storyteller. Ken was part of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lighthouse Anglers Fishing Club, Fishing Without Boundaries, the American Legion, and his church, St. John’s of Byron. Ken loved his family and was a very dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by many.

Those Ken leaves behind to cherish his memory include the love of his life, his wife, Carol.  Ken was also blessed with four loving daughters Kelly (Phil) Wheelehan, Sue (Greg) Graf, Mary Boevers, and Stacey (Matt) Traudt. Ken also is survived by his cherished grandchildren Melissa (Derek Steinmetz) Lamers, Nicole (Ryan) Braun, Justin (Stephanie) Graf, Spenser (Kel) Graf, Lindsey (Chris) Newhauser, Reily (Abby) Graf, Alexis (Nate Walz) Graf, Ally Boevers, Carlee (Andy) Flatt, Blake Boevers, and Nolan, Bryce, & Violet Traudt. He further enjoyed his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Brock, Ari, Jase, Ryker, Kennedy, Magnolia, Nash, Wells, Grant, Archer and Louis. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was especially close with his hunting nephews, Greg and Dave Kremer. He will also be missed by his only brother, Don, and in-laws Larry Kind, Carolyn Lerch, Elaine (Paul) Schwefel, Donny (Joyce) Schwartz, and Patti Schwartz.

In addition to his parents, Herbert and Margaret Kremer, Ken was preceded in death by his in-laws, Lesly and Eleanor Schwartz, Helen Kind, Keith Lerch, Gary Schwartz and Opy Schwefel.
