Larry Venne

Larry Venne, age 72 years, of West Bend, formerly of Racine, was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2023 peacefully at his home.

Larry was born on March 28, 1950 in Racine to Clayton and Lucille Venne (Schrader).  He was united in marriage to Peggy Stegman on May 6, 1972 at Atonement Lutheran Church in Racine.

Larry graduated from Horlick High School in Racine – Class of 1969.  Most of his working years were spent at Wadewitz Elementary School.  Several students will recall being paid in lemon drops candy when they helped in the lunchroom.  He retired in 2008 from Racine Unified School District.  Larry loved to travel, especially to Mexico; playing with his grandchildren and his family pups; and recently reconnecting with old friends.

Those Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Peggy; his two children, Randy (Jana) Venne and Tracy (Jeremy) Pitchford; five grandchildren, Haley, Allie, Brooklyn, Drew, and Gavin; five siblings, Clayt (Marilyn) Venne Jr, Tom (Chris) Venne, Sue Schneider, Debbie (Jim) Kumpel, and Dan (Pat) Venne; and sister-in-law, Diana (Bill) Bock.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dietmar Schneider.

Larry’s family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at North Shore Congregational Church (7330 N Santa Monica Blvd. – Fox Point, WI  53217) from 9:30 am to 11:15 am.

A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at Church at 11:30 am with the Rev. Dr. Marty Hall officiating, who is a close friend of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Larry’s name can be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
