Laura O. Miller, 92, of Verona, formerly of Kewaskum, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2011, at HospiceCare in Madison.
She was born on April 2, 1919, in the town of Auburn, the daughter of the late Rudolf and Theresa (Wittman) Hirsig, and on October 26, 1938, she was united in marriage to Joseph M. Miller at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Joe and Laura were long-time residents of Kewaskum and in 1994 moved to Verona to be closer to their daughter and son-in-law. Joe preceded Laura in death on April 16, 1999. For the past four years Laura has made her home at Willow Pointe Assisted Living in Verona.
Laura was a former member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.
Those Laura leaves behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jolene (Ken) Kenyon of Verona; two grandchildren, Jeff (Debbie) Kenyon of Lake Mills and Jill (Scott) Stamn of Waukesha; five great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael Kenyon, Nicole, Jessica and Megan Stamn, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Laura was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Allen; two brothers, Felix and Oscar (Pauline) Hirsig and two sisters, Verna (Edward) Dobke and Beulah (Floyd) Grosklaus.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Laura was held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main Street in Kewaskum. Father Jerome Rinzel officiated and burial followed in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Tuesday from noon until the time of Mass.
