Laverne Rose Ehrhardt

January 25, 1920 — July 28, 2011

LaVerne Rose Ehrhardt, 91, of the town of Lomira, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011.


She was born January 25, 1920, in Lomira, the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Jagow) Wolf. After graduating as Lomira High School Valedictorian, she attended Fond du Lac Vocational School, where she became Executive Secretary to the school’s president.


LaVerne was a lifelong learner, an avid reader of many materials, including cookbooks which enhanced her excellent cooking skills.


On February 2, 1959, LaVerne married Maurice Ehrhardt at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira, and accepted his family as her own.


LaVerne was a very committed member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira, where she served as Sunday School Superintendent and worked on numerous committees, speaking eloquently at many functions. She was especially active in United Methodist Women. She quietly lived her Christian faith as an example to those around her.


Those LaVerne leaves behind to cherish her memory include: five children, Evelyn Krug of Lomira, Carol Dallman and her husband, Mark, of Blacksburg, Virginia, Lois Hartwig of Lincoln City, Oregon, Robert Ehrhardt and his wife, Janet, of Tempe, Arizona, Lynette Sherman and her husband, George, of Amarillo, Texas; a brother, Oliver Wolf, of Lomira; a sister, Doreen Unferth, and her husband, Donald of Lomira; thirteen grandchildren, Steven Krug, Lorilyn Krug, Karen Chiodini, Kris Lane, Kurt Dallman, Robert Hartwig, Rochelle Blanco, Timothy Ehrhardt, Ericka Ehrhardt, Elisa Priolo, Nathan Sherman, Nikah Hart, and Nisha Arnold; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


In addition to her husband and parents, LaVerne was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Wolf, a son, Ronald Ehrhardt, two sons-in-law, Arlen Hartwig and Donald Krug, a great-grandson, Riley Peter Arnold, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.


A memorial service for LaVerne was held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 300 Church Street in Lomira. Burial of her cremains followed the service in Emanuel Cemetery in the town of Lomira.


Relatives and friends called at the church on Tuesday from 2:30 pm until the time of services.


Memorials to Trinity United Methodist Church for Missions or to Heifer International are appreciated.


The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira was entrusted with LaVerne’s arrangements.
