Laverne A. Katz, nee Harju, 70, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph's Hospital, West Bend.
She was born on September 16, 1937 in Duluth, Minnesota, to the late Elmer and Elina (nee Waisanen) Harju. She was united in marriage to Daniel Katz on June 24, 1961 in Ashland.
Laverne worked with her husband in the real estate business for many years. She later worked at Avada Hearing Care Center in West Bend until retiring in 2004.
She was a past member and past president of the West Bend Lioness Club. She loved entering sweepstakes.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel; a son, Jason (Sara) Katz of West Bend; a grandson, Ryder Katz; a sister, Donna (James) Hluchnik; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1044 Silverbrook Dr., West Bend. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
