LaVerne E. O'Neill, nee Karweik, 83, of West Bend, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, October 19, 2005.
She was born on March 26, 1922 in Milwaukee to the late Arthur and Norma (nee Mallueg) Karweik. She was united in marriage to Warren O'Neill on January 17, 1945 in Milwaukee. The couple lived in the Milwaukee area for many years until 1988 when they moved to Cedar Ridge in West Bend.
LaVerne was a member of Pilgrim Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. She loved to travel and enjoyed cruises. LaVerne and Warren traveled to all 50 states and to many other countries throughout the world. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and reading. She also took up watercolor painting about 15 years ago.
LaVerne's greatest enjoyment came from her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
LaVerne was the Beloved Wife of Warren for 60 years; Dear Mother of Terry (Linda) O'Neill of Wales, Kevin (Judy) O'Neill of West Bend, Timothy (Cynthia) O'Neill of Fort Collins, CO, and Dennis (Janet) O'Neill of Ellendale, ND; Loving Grandmother of Kyle O'Neill, Ryan O'Neill, Jennifer (Scott) Breier, Julie O'Neill, Benjamin O'Neill, Keaton O'Neill, Thomas (Jennifer) O'Neill, and Brian O'Neill; and Loving Great-Grandmother of Tate and Katie Breier. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 24 at 12:00 Noon at Pilgrim Ev. Lutheran Church, 462 Meadowbrook Dr., West Bend, with Rev. Joseph Fisher and Rev. David Meyer officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Milwaukee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Cedar Community or Cedar Community Hospice would be appreciated.
