LaVon McGrath, nee Gillis, age 73, of West Bend, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 23, 2012 at her residence.
She was born on February 5, 1939 in Patterson, IL to the late Clarence and Theda (nee Painter) Gillis.
LaVon enjoyed working for Peat Marwick Mitchell & Company (KPMG) for over 25 years. She loved to play golf and spend time with her family. She was a former member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Alton, IL and a current member of St. James Episcopal Church in West Bend, WI.
She is survived by her daughter, Patty (Chris) Hugi of West Bend, four grandchildren, Brandon Beuttel, Matt Hugi, Lauren Beuttel, and Gianna Hugi; one sister, Nilah (Roy) Webster; one brother, Lowell (Lilly) Gillis; other relatives and friends.
LaVon was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William David Rose; and brother, Carlos Gillis.
A graveside service in remembrance of LaVon will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 11:00 am in Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton, IL with Father William Malottke officiating.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Cedar Bay West and Cedar Community Hospice, as well as Drs. Zoran Gajic and Eric Olafsson and their staff for their care and compassion that was given to LaVon and her family.
