Leafy Edna Hoehner

Leafy Edna Hoehner, nee Phillips, 85, of West Bend, entered eternal life in Heaven on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend.

She was born on February 4, 1921 in Flint, Michigan to the late Gerhardt and Edna (nee Sides) Phillips. She was united in marriage to Robert P. Hoehner on January 20, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. Her husband preceded her in death on August 8, 1986.

Leafy moved to West Bend in 1988, after living most of her life in the Detroit, Michigan area.

She is survived by five children, Rev. Robert (Susan) Hoehner of West Bend, Wisconsin, Dr. Janice (Michael) Alexander of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, James (Mary) Hoehner of Dearborn, Michigan, Paul (Suelynn) Hoehner of Warren, Michigan, and Kari Hoehner of Appleton, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Lydia Koehn of Royal Oak, Michigan; two brothers, Gerhardt (Alice) Phillips of Kaleva, Michigan, and Carl (Kate) Phillips of Port Angeles, Washington; a brother-in-law, John Meyer of Walled Lake, Michigan; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Suzanna Meyer, and two brothers, Richard Phillips and Leonard Phillips.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 17 at 12:00 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Ave., West Bend. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The committal service will be held in Livonia, Michigan, on Friday, January 19 at 11:30 a.m. at Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park (35667 West Eight Mile Rd.). Visitation will be at the cemetery chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in the Garden of the Holy Trinity in Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park.

Memorials to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend, Concordia University Wisconsin or Concordia University Ann Arbor, Michigan would be appreciated.
