Leona A. (Ebert) Wagner

January 5, 1922 — March 14, 2016

Leona A. Wagner (nee Ebert), 94, of Kewaskum, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016, at her home in Kewaskum surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 5, 1922, the daughter of the late Otto and Ida (nee Kutz) Ebert and on August 16, 1941, she was united in marriage to Wilbert Wagner at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee.  Wilbert preceded Leona in death on January 3, 2002.

In her younger days she worked as a nanny, then later at Stella cheese before becoming a full time homemaker.  Leona was a member of Good Shepherd in West Bend and was known for making many Easter lamb cakes to share with her family.
Those Leona leaves behind to cherish her memory include two children, Ronald Wagner and Marilyn Loomis both of Kewaskum; a granddaughter, Lisa Loomis of Kewaskum; a great-grandson, Shannon Loomis of Kewaskum, who was her pride and joy; a brother, Vilas Ebert of Campbellsport, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband Wilbert, Leona was preceded in death by a son-in-law Jerome Loomis; two sisters, Malinda Lepp and Hilda Schiltz, and two brothers Walter and Melvin Ebert.

Funeral Services for Leona will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 215 Forest Ave, in Kewaskum.  Rev. Robert Hein, Rev. Richard Lauersdorf and Rev. John Paustian will all be officiating and burial will follow on Friday at Union Cemetery in Campbellsport at 10:00 a.m.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.

Leona’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to Cedar Home Hospice for their support and care, especially nurse Shelly who always made her smile.  Also to nephew and niece Irvin and June Lepp for being there for us and to all who visited her and sent cards and prayers.  As well as the pastors of Good Shepherd for their many visits and support.
