Leroy H. Becker

LeRoy H. Becker, 88, of Kewaskum, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.


He was born on September 5, 1921, in Jackson, the son of the late Oscar and Viola (Krueger) Becker, and on May 4, 1946, he was united in marriage to Margaret Gonnering in West Bend. The couple farmed in the town of Barton and town of Kewaskum.


LeRoy served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum, Moose Lodge West Bend 1398, the Golden Guernsey Organization and the Farm Bureau.


LeRoy was an avid baseball fan, who enjoyed the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers.


Those LeRoy leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret; three children, Kenneth (Ann) Becker of Clintonville, Karen (Gerry) Lauters of Stevens Point and Jeanne Becker of Kewaskum; a daughter-in-law, Harriet Becker of West Bend; two brothers, Robert (LaVerne) Becker and Armond “Ozzie” (Shirley) Becker both of West Bend; a sister, Arlene “Mobbie” Schneider of Richfield; a sister-in-law, Mary Becker of West Bend, ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.


In addition to his parents, LeRoy was preceded in death by a son, James E. Becker; an infant granddaughter, Jaime Ann Becker; a brother, Allen “Buddy” Becker; a sister, Dorothy (Bob) Smith and a brother-in-law, Calvin “Kelly” Schneider.


Funeral services for LeRoy were held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010, at Peace United Church of Christ, 343 First Street in Kewaskum. Rev. Eric Kirkegaard officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.

Relatives and friends called on Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
