Lester A. Landvatter, age 85, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Mapledale Manor in Kewaskum.
He was born on September 16, 1921 in West Bend to the late Edwin and Caroline (Nee Schuppel) Landvatter. He graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1939, and after working a few jobs he entered the U.S. Army and served in Europe during WW II. After returning to West Bend he was united in marriage to Florence Ruefenacht on May 11, 1946 at Immanuel United Church of Christ.
Lester worked at the former White House Milk Company and West Bend Plating Company for a short time, and then for the Ozaukee County Highway Department for many years until his retirement. After retirement he enjoyed working on the Lee Schuppel farm, until his wife Florence died in 1997.
He is survived by a sister, Dorothy Graff of West Bend; a brother, John Landvatter of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Landvatter of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother Edwin "Bud" Landvatter Jr.
It was Lester's wish that there be no funeral services for him. Cremation took place at Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral & Cremation Service and private family graveside services will be held on a later date in spring.
Those wishing to remember Lester may give memorials to the Salvation Army in his name.
