Lillian L. Kuester, nee Weddig, age 90, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, June, 15, 2011 at the Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.
Lillian was born on July 27, 1920 in Kewaskum, the late John and Magdalene (nee Kreutzinger) Weddig. She graduated from Kewaskum High School in the class of 1938. On June 14, 1941, she was united in marriage to Hugo Kuester at Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum. Together they resided in Milwaukee and Lillian worked as a waitress at Pappy's and Simon House in Milwaukee until she retired in 1995. Hugo preceded her in death in 1993. In 2000, Lillian moved to Cedar Ridge in West Bend.
Lillian enjoyed playing sheepshead and cribbage. She was an avid bowler, and loved baking, knitting and the Brewers.
Lillian is survived by three grandchildren, Mary (David) Gorski of Milwaukee, John Kuester of Milwaukee and Anthony Kuester of Milwaukee; one sister, Evelyn Jansen of West Bend; dear friends, Madelynn Miezio of West Bend and Judy Stubbe of West Bend; many nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hugo; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara (John) Campbell; son, James Kuester; one sister and seven brothers.
A memorial service in remembrance of Lillian will be held on Tuesday, June 21st at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Cedar Ridge, 113 Cedar Ridge Drive, West Bend. Visitation will be in the Chapel at Cedar Ridge on Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be in Valhalla Cemetery in Milwaukee.
